Ingredients
- 1 hibiscus tea bag or 1 tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers
- 3 ounces boiling water
- 4 fresh blackberries
- 0.75 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 ounce vanilla simple syrup
- 3 ounces premium tonic water or club soda
- Ice
Instructions
- Prep the garnish: Garnish the glass with a dehydrated lemon wheel and a couple of floating blackberries to create an upscale craft cocktail aesthetic.
- Brew the base: Steep the hibiscus tea bag in boiling water for 5 minutes to create a concentrated flavor base, then remove the tea bag and let it cool completely.
- Muddle the fruit: Muddle the fresh blackberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker until they are completely broken down and juicy.
- Combine the mixers: Pour in the cooled hibiscus concentrate, fresh lemon juice, and vanilla simple syrup.
- Chill the ingredients: Fill the shaker with ice, cap it, and shake vigorously for about ten seconds until completely chilled.
- Double strain: Strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer into a rocks glass filled with large ice cubes to catch all the seeds and pulp.
- Add the bubbles: Top the glass with tonic water and give it a gentle, slow stir to incorporate the carbonation without losing the fizz.
