How to Make A Spiced Rum & Pumpkin Punch

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz spiced rum (Sailor Jerry or Chairman’s Reserve)
  • ½ oz dark rum
  • 1 oz pumpkin spice syrup (see notes)
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • Ice
  • Freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon stick (garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine both rums, pumpkin spice syrup, lemon juice, and apple cider in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well for 15 seconds.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice, or serve in a punch cup.
  4. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Notes

Pumpkin spice syrup: Whisk 2 tbsp pumpkin purée + 1 cup simple syrup + ½ tsp cinnamon + ¼ tsp ginger + ⅛ tsp cloves + ⅛ tsp nutmeg. Strain through a fine mesh. Keeps 1 week refrigerated. 

Batch it: This scales beautifully for a party punch, multiply by 10, serve over a large ice block.
